Approximately 4 months after Neoen received confirmation of ARENA’s grant for the Griffith Solar Farm, the project reaches Financial Close. Together with the Parkes and Dubbo projects, the Griffith Solar Farm is the first project to reach this milestone in the context of the ARENA large-scale solar competitive round. ARENA and the CEFC describe this success in the following press releases: https://arena.gov.au/media/nsws-solar-bonanza-become-reality/ http://www.cleanenergyfinancecorp.com.au/media/files/cefc-accelerates-large-scale-solar-construction-in-new-south-wales-with-$150-million-investment.aspx Bouygues Construction, the contractor chosen by Neoen to build this project, have received notice to proceed and are set to [...]
The Neoen team is proud to announce that the Griffith Solar Farm is one of 12 Australian projects that will receive federal funding in the context of the ARENA large-scale solar competitive round (http://arena.gov.au/media/historic-day-australian-solar-12-new-plants-get-support/). The tender had attracted tremendous interest from the industry with 77 proposals seeking to benefit from the $100m available funding. This major milestone means that Neoen will move forward with the construction of the Griffith Solar Farm, and early works are expected to begin before the end of 2016.
The Griffith Solar Farm is one of 20 projects which have lodged a Full Application to the ARENA on the 15th June 2016. This constitutes the last step of the federal tender that is expected to allocate $100m of funding to the most competitive Australian large-scale solar projects in September 2016.
The NSW Department of Planning and Environment granted a Development Approval to the Griffith Solar Farm for up to 60MW on June 14th. This is the result of an Environment Impact Assesment process initiated on September 2015 as well as thorough Community Engagement Process started on December 2015. This approval is a major milestone for the project and confirms the value of the Griffith Solar Farm, respecting its environment and producing clean energy.
Neoen is glad to announce that Transgrid made an offer to connect for stage 1 of the Griffith Solar Farm, which represents 30MW. This offer was made on June 10th. This is the last step before the signature of a connection agreement and confirms the avalability of sufficent capacity at the connection point as well as the design and cost associated to the connection.
The Development Application (DA) for the Griffith Solar Farm, including an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), was lodged on Monday 7 March 2016. Hard copies of the EIS will be exhibited from 18 March to 20 April 2016 in order to provide details of the project to the public and to allow the community to express any concern about the Griffith Solar Farm, which will then need to be addressed by Neoen. The EIS is being exhibited at different places, including: Department of Planning Information [...]
